AgroGloryTime’s Enterprises and the Greenhouse Project

AgroGloryTime is made up of several enterprises, with JSC Zakarpatsky Sad as its core. Another key player, Sevlushfoods LLC, is responsible for greenhouse operations in Korolevo, in the Berehove district. The greenhouse project began in 2019 with a strategic business plan and modern infrastructure development.

The greenhouse design was inspired by local models and is split into two phases: 1 hectare in the first and 0.5 hectares in the second. The newer greenhouses feature automated control systems to regulate temperature and wind speed, and they are equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity for remote monitoring. This technology reduces crop loss risk, even though it is more expensive to implement.

AgroGloryTime’s greenhouses focus on growing cucumbers and tomatoes, produced in two cycles. To extend the autumn harvest, the company installed a boiler room with 1 kW solid fuel boilers.

Local and Global Practices: A Winning Combination

AgroGloryTime combines foreign cultivation techniques with an understanding of local soil and climate. They employ experienced agronomists and technical specialists to manage irrigation, heating systems, and greenhouse production. The proximity to the Tisa River ensures a steady water supply for drip irrigation, and soil tests have confirmed the suitability for organic farming.

Since March 2021, AgroGloryTime has produced vegetables on a large scale, with a second full harvest in 2023. Two agronomists from Kherson have adapted their methods to the local climate, helping AgroGloryTime overcome challenges like significant temperature variations between day and night.

Overcoming Climate Challenges

Zakarpattia’s climate presents challenges such as temperature differences and frequent dew, which can affect plant health. To counter these issues, AgroGloryTime uses green shading nets to reduce temperature and prevent sun damage. Techniques like whitewashed walls also help reflect heat and protect plants.

In 2023, AgroGloryTime expanded into open-field cultivation, using the same hybrid crops as in its greenhouses. Nejlina F1 cucumbers have thrived, despite the region’s climate challenges.

Market Demand and Future Expansion

AgroGloryTime’s produce is sold to wholesalers and local markets in Ukraine. Though there were plans for export, strong local demand delayed these efforts. Currently, cucumbers are priced at 10 UAH, while tomatoes range from 20-25 UAH per kilogram.

With 2,000 hectares of land available, AgroGloryTime has big plans for expansion, including increasing greenhouse space to 800 hectares. To fund this growth, the company launched the $AGTI token, based on Tether (USDT), in 2022.
